Let the Sun Power Your Business

Our Services

IslaSol is about more than just solar power — we’re about developing commercial solar solutions that will have a positive impact on the planet and your business's bottom line.

Commercial Rooftop Solar

Power your business by installing solar panels on your rooftops. IslaSol will provide a turnkey solar installation.

  • Property owners control their energy futures by locking in solar power costs and may decrease their demand charges when they install solar on their roof. Depending on your building location, you may have the option to add battery storage to increase your business's energy resiliency, keeping it running even when conventional power is out. Solar projects provide a predictable long-term stream of economic benefits and may increase the profitability of your land.

  • Depending on your building's electric rate and utility incentives, purchasing power from an on-site solar system may provide savings over your current electric rate or demand charges. By locking in your solar power rate, you have control over that portion of your energy costs for the next 20+ years.

  • ACCESSIBILITY: The rooftop should be easily accessible for the maintenance crew and contain few equipment pieces.

LIMITED SHADING: A relatively clear, open roof with no obstructions that could shade the panels. Land may be cleared to construct the project.

ROOF: Good load-bearing capacity and a south-facing rooftop are desired. In addition, a newer roof will have many more years of life and solar hosting available.

Ground Mount Solar

Host a solar project on your land and generate additional income while helping combat the climate crisis!

  • Property owners receive annual lease payments for hosting solar projects on their land. Solar projects may be developed alongside existing activities or in place of existing use. Projects provide a predictable long-term revenue stream to property owners and may increase the profitability of your land.

  • Once the project is operating, landowners receive ongoing lease payments for the life of the project, typically 20-40 years. Lease payments will be based on the project’s size and will be calculated from a variety of economic assumptions that are specific to your property and location.

  • ACCESSIBILITY: Close to a public access road. The utility, construction crews, and long-term maintenance providers should be able to easily access the property.

LIMITED SHADING: A relatively clear, open plot of land with no obstructions that could shade the panels. Land may be cleared to construct the project.

CONTIGUOUS SHAPE: A continuous area of land not interrupted by wetlands, streams or easements.

LOCATION: The closer to a utility’s substation the better; 2.5 miles from a substation is generally the maximum distance to maintain project feasibility.

ACREAGE: A minimum developable area of 25 acres.

TOPOGRAPHY: Relatively flat or south facing slopes with less than a 15° slope.

Storage

Host a battery system on your land and keep the power going whenever there is a power outage!

  • Property owners receive annual lease payments for hosting commercial battery systems on their land. Battery systems may be developed alongside existing activities or in place of existing use. Projects provide a predictable long-term revenue stream to property owners and may increase the profitability of your land.

In addition, systems may be designed to decrease demand charges assessed by the utility company or to provide back-up power during a utility outage. Storage provides many value streams; we will work with you to provide a project that fulfills your needs.

  • If renting your property for commercial storage, you will receive ongoing lease payments for the life of the project, typically 20-40 years. Lease payments will be based on the project’s size and will be calculated from a variety of economic assumptions that are specific to your property and location.

  • ACCESSIBILITY: Close to a public access road. The utility, construction crews, and long-term maintenance providers should be able to easily access the property.

LOCATION: The closer to a utility’s substation, the better; 2.5 miles from a substation is generally the maximum distance to maintain project feasibility.

    TOPOGRAPHY: Relatively flat.

Energy Resiliency

To us, resiliency means giving your business control over its energy future.

  • By pairing solar with storage, you can keep your business running during short power outages and provide support to any services you need during extended outages. In addition, by installing solar and purchasing its energy, you have control over your solar energy cost for the lifetime of the system and you are doing your part to slow climate change.
